Rugby Union – Club Australia

The Herb Gilbert collection, in the National  Museum of Australia, consists of a Metropolitan Rugby Union “B” cap for 1909 and a 1910 commemorative cap belonging to the rugby union and league player Herb Gilbert (Snr). Herb Gilbert began his football career playing rugby union. He displayed early talent and represented Australia in the Wallabies team of 1910. The following season he switched to rugby league (NMA)

New South Wales Cap awarded to Pat “Nimmo” Walsh who played for them between 1903 and 1905. during this time he also played three games for Australia (Cap on Rugby union – National Team – Australia Page) (PW)
