Australian Highest Level Regional rugby is currently played as part of the Super Rugby Competition that covers  teams from Argentina, Australia, Japan, New Zealand and South Africa.

As expressed on another page it is sometimes hard to pigeon hole or label teams as their the regional status of teams has changed considerably over time, especially with the introduction of professionalism and growing commercialism.
